Oh la la la Land

Today I found not only my my new favorite band but also the new love of my life... not bad for one day. Via the intertubes I stumbled upon the band Oh Land, from Denmark. The singer has a good voice and also happens to be gorgeous. She just got signed by Epic records and is recording her EP currently with Pharrel, which makes me even more excited.

Take a listen for yourself - I like sun of a gun and wolf and I
Official site
myspace page (with videos) (I hate to post Myspace but unfortunately there are not a ton of links to her stuff yet)

Also her Dad happens to be a Theatre organist and so she did a concert with full orchestra accompaniment (not sure if that is really a word haha)it is pretty sweet
Here is the a clip from the rehersal

Let me know what you think.

Summer Mix 2010

Nothing says summer like a giant good and evil cat battling over a city....

Okay in celebration of my last few days of laziness before I start my internship on Monday and in response to a few requests for me to put up some more music, I present to you Costco Bob's Summer Mix 2010. I tried to go through all the recent songs I have downloaded and find only the upbeat "summer-esque" songs. The idea is songs you would smile to while driving down the Pacific Coast Highway in a 1960's era convertible (a feeling we are all super familiar with). This is considerably more indie than my previous much more electro/rap mix. I will try and throw some of my more mainstream pop/rap songs up in a little bit. But for now enjoy.....

Personal fav right now is Yeasayer - ONE

Download it all at once here
29 tracks total

Or preview them one by one.... not sure if this player is going to work but here goes..

Bob's Easter Mix Tape

I know this image is a little sacrilegious but it was just too timely and funny to pass up. ps the title of the image was "Jesus died for our spins"....

Alright here is my Easter Basket of Fun Mix

Two Door Cinema Club - Something Good Can Work (Ted & Francis Remix)
Perfect summer jam, makes me feel like I am in the 80's riding a rollerskating down Venice Beach with Elisabeth Shue (respectable Adventure in Babysitting Shue, not coked up Leaving Las Vegas Shue)

B.O.B - Lonely People ('Eleanor Rigby' Sample)
Although I normally shutter at remixes using Beatles tracks, I really enjoy this one. B.O.B. is like a newer, more normal and melodic Outkast.

Mashup- Imagine One Day [Matisyahu Vs. John Lennon Vs. Blink 182 Vs. Bob Marley]

Really chill mashup of a bunch of great anthems. With the exception of the Blink 182 part I love this song.

Aloe Blacc - I Need A Dollar
This song is an unemployed gentleman’s anthem. I reckon you will dig it. It probably could be used as the official song for the Obama Regime with the number of times it talks about sharing your dollars.

The White Stripes Vs. Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams Are Made Of Seven Nation Army
Amazing how well the two tracks match up.

Magnet & Gemma Hayes - Lay Lady Lay (Bob Dylan Cover)
So mellow. Great Song

TPain- Can't Believe It (The Girls Can Hear Us Remix).

Drake Feat. Hyper Crush - Over (Hyper Crush Remix)
Great Party Remix

La Roux - Bulletproof (HYPER CRUSH Remix)
